Biji Biji is an ethical fashion label that respects the environment. We are committed to pushing the boundaries and curate change in the fashion industry by transforming the alternative into the norm with our handmade fashion accessories and apparels. Our materials are selected meticulously from a range of industries, including those foreign and unique to the fashion world before transforming them into beautiful, functional, and timeless designs.
To transform the alternative into the norm.
Realizing the influence a fashion brand can bring to social and environmental issues, Biji Biji aims to raise the bar through its commitment to sustainable and ethical standards to build a fashion brand that puts the sustainability agenda on its forefront - disrupting the typical manufacturing process and encouraging a circular economy with a refreshing take on up-cycled materials.

Biji Biji is a brainchild of Biji-biji Initiative, a pioneering social enterprise in Malaysia.
Formed in 2013, a group of 4 young visionaries set out to change the sustainability scene in Malaysia through progressive ideas, changing how people look at waste and sustainability issues.
What started in a humble apartment and then a house in Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur grew rapidly due to awards and recognition. We had our head start with a corporate gift order of 1000 banner bags in 2013 and winning Alliance Bank's SME Innovation Challenge Award in 2014.
Started off with working closely together with a multiracial, multinational disruptive group of volunteering passionate youths, we’ve spent precious years cultivating our brand, improving our designs and expanding our team. We went on to work and collaborate with a number of talented Malaysian designers and industry leaders.
Today we are based in one of the most exciting centres in Malaysia, Publika Shopping Gallery in Kuala Lumpur with a number of retailers across Malaysia.

Fast-changing trends drive wastefulness to an all-time high as products are produced in enormous scales placing fashion as the second most polluting industry in the world. Our products are intentionally made using materials recovered at their end-of-life stage from a range of industries such as faulty seat belt webbing from the car manufacturing industry, deadstock vintage kimono from the Japanese textile manufacturing industry, tarpaulin banners from the advertising industry, and needle punch carpet from the event industry. By incorporating up-cycled materials into aesthetically designed bags and apparels, we are restoring and increasing the value of the materials.
Closing the loop by breathing new life into once unwanted materials.
